Leila Place, Pullenvale
The Brief
This beautiful contemporary home sits high on a hill top in Pullenvale with magnificent forest and sunset views. The brief was to beautify the very steep embankment providing the only access down to the main garden, plant up a large garden bed below the pool and provide screening with a neighbouring property down one side of the garden.
The Result
A set of large timber framed stairs filled with gravel was built down the embankment connecting down to the garden. The staircase was flanked by a balanced planting of large and medium leafed plants with taller Heliconias on the one side to break up a large wall space. Big granite rocks run down the embankment giving the impression of a river bed running through the centre of the garden bed area whilst huge sandstone blocks provide provide a continuous retaining wall at the bottom for all of the garden beds. A fire pit area has since been created and fits into the embankment perfectly to finish off this neat and attractive garden.
